Refit enables international missionaries to return to their place of service adequately supplied or to begin their home assignment with that extra cushion that missionary service may not provide. Refit also helps new church planters to meet immediate ministry needs in their new congregations, as well as congregational ministries that address issues of oppression and exploitation of women and girls.
Refit is a way that American Baptist women support missions in a most practical way. Women give generously to our Refit Fund to assist missionaries in transition to or from their United States/Puerto Rico assignment. This money enables missionary families to purchase needed clothing, supplies, and equipment for their next place of service, wherever in the world it may be! Each year, AB Women’s Ministries passes along to International Ministries a portion of the Refit funds contributed by American Baptist women to be given to the missionaries that have imminent “refitting” needs.
The other portion of the Refit funds goes to American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) to be given as gifts to another important group of missionaries—pastors that are planting new congregations and congregational ministries addressing oppression and exploitation of women and girls.
Refit helps make life a little easier for our missionaries here at home and around the world. Leave it to American Baptist women to recognize and meet their practical needs!
Contributions can be made by making your check out to "AB Women's Ministries - Refit" and mailing it to AB Women's Ministries, P.O. Box 851, Valley Forge, PA, 18284-0851. You may alternatively give a gift to the Women and Girls Mission Fund and know that it will be used where most needed.
