Women and Girls Mission Fund — “Break the Chains” has taught us all something. We’ve learned that American Baptist women are passionate about partnering with others to meet the needs of women and girls in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and around the world. In light of that, in October 2010 the executive committee of AB Women’s Ministries created a “Women and Girls Mission Fund”—a permanent fund specifically created to support ministry and outreach to women and girls. Break the Chains and Stop the Pain, leadership development, and AB GIRLS will be part of the Women and Girls Mission Fund, as will the opportunity to support other needs and ministries that come to our attention (such as the emergency call to action for Cholera Health Project in Haiti).

Endowment Funds — We celebrate new gifts of $203,676.98 given to our AB Women's Endowment Fund during our two-year 60th Anniversary "Envisioning for God's Purpose" Endowment Fund campaign, which concluded in July 2011. Thank you to each person who made a gift during the campaign. $124,749.49 of the total came from individuals who had included our Endowment Fund in their estate planning. 
    We have two Endowment Funds:  one for our AB GIRLS ministry and one for AB Women's Ministries. Endowment funds keep the mission of an organization alive and vital as they provide long-term financial support. Funds are invested strategically and with concern for social responsibility, and typically realize substantial growth over the years. With a relatively small portion of accumulated interest drawn each year by the organization to meet designated financial needs, the larger principal continues to grow and fuel funding over time. While the value of our Endowment Fund investments may be impacted by the global economy, the overall performance of the principal typically grows in value over time. Our Endowment Funds are invested and managed through the American Baptist Foundation. Invest in the future of our ministries with women and girls by making a gift to one or both of our Endowment Funds. Gifts for either Endowment Fund sent by check to AB Women's Ministries, P.O. Box 851, Valley Forge, PA 19482-0851 will help these invested funds grow. Deferred gifts can be arranged with the assistance of the American Baptist Foundation staff, by calling (800) 222-3872, ext. 2035.
